I am a professional photographer with over two years of experience doing editorial and conceptual portraiture. I am focused on challenging and destabilising Eurocentric beauty standards, particularly in my editorial work, by uplifting and empowering Black women and familiarising the Western beauty and fashion industries with ‘non-traditional’ Black features. I have had my work displayed in exhibitions such as the We Are Here exhibit by UKBFTOG as well as being published in magazines such as Mob Journal and Feroce Magazine.

 

Through the use of conceptual and documentary images I also aim to address and challenge dangerous stereotypes surrounding Black mental health and the issues the Black British community face regarding getting help, speaking about mental health and communicating feelings or expressing what living with mental illness feels like.
